Built for people whose customers are food businesses

Pest control

New kitchens need pest-proofing contracts, and a low hygiene score often follows a pest problem. Reach them while they're choosing a provider.

Food-safety consultants & trainers

Businesses awaiting their first inspection need Level 2 hygiene training, HACCP plans and allergen paperwork. Low-rated ones need help before re-inspection.

Card machines & EPOS

A café that registered last week is choosing its till and card machine now. Be the first rep through the door, not the fifth.

Cleaning, waste & supplies

Deep cleans, extraction, grease traps, commercial waste, wholesale food and packaging. Every new opening is a new account to win.

How it works

    Pick your patch

Enter a postcode and a radius (1–10 miles), or choose whole council areas. Filter by the business types you sell to.

  2. 2

    See who's new

Newly registered businesses come first, then recent low hygiene ratings with their inspection date.

  3. 3

    Check back weekly

New businesses since your last visit are highlighted. Export to CSV for your CRM or route planner.

What's included

Business name, business type, address, postcode, council, hygiene rating and inspection date, plus a link to the official ratings page.

What's not

No phone numbers or emails. Home-based businesses may show a partial postcode only. Not every council publishes premises awaiting inspection, so check your area free first.

Questions

Where does the data come from?+

From the Food Standards Agency's official food hygiene ratings open data, published under the Open Government Licence. Councils add food businesses to it when they register (legally required 28 days before trading) and update it after every inspection. FoodLeads reads it live, so you always see the current register.

How do you know which businesses are new?+

Every premises on the register gets an ID number, issued in sequence. FoodLeads sorts businesses still awaiting their first inspection by that number, so the most recently added appear first. Subscribers also get a 'new since your last visit' highlight, so each week you only look at what's changed.

Do you include phone numbers or email addresses?+

No. The register lists the business name, type, address and postcode, plus rating and inspection date. Home-based businesses may show only part of their postcode, because councils keep private addresses off the register. Most of our customers visit, send a letter, or look the business up themselves.

Does every council publish new registrations?+

Most do, but not all publish premises awaiting inspection, and some only publish them in batches. The leads tool shows exactly how many each council has, so you can check your area for free before paying.

Which areas are covered?+

The whole UK: search within 1 to 10 miles of any postcode or postcode district (e.g. LS12), or by any of the 363 local authorities in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Scotland uses the Food Hygiene Information Scheme, so 'low rating' there means 'Improvement Required'.

How do I cancel?+

Subscriptions are handled by Gumroad. Cancel any time from the link in your Gumroad receipt and you won't be charged again.

Can I use the leads however I like?+

No. Use them honestly and responsibly. Never claim or imply you're from, approved by or working with a council, environmental health or the FSA, and never use pressure or scare tactics about a business's rating or inspection. Councils warn food businesses about firms that do this, and it breaks our terms. Visiting in person and posting a letter are the simplest routes. If you phone, screen numbers against the Telephone and Corporate Preference Services (TPS/CTPS). Don't send unsolicited marketing emails or texts to sole traders without their consent (PECR). And if the business is a sole trader or partnership, UK GDPR says you must tell them where you got their details (the FSA's public food hygiene register) when you first contact them.
